Mr. Giacona maintains a diverse real estate practice focused on both residential and commercial transactions. In addition to standard purchases and sales, he also represents lenders and borrowers in various financing matter, loan workouts and foreclosures, as well as complex title review and the curing of title defects.
Mr. Giacona also represents individuals and developers in all areas of zoning and land use, such as to secure municipal approvals from planning, zoning, or historic preservation boards. He’s also successfully defended numerous property owners against municipal challenges to their land use or development plans. His experience in such areas has even caused municipalities to engage his services, such as the Town of Sennett, where he’s served as counsel to the Planning Board since 2016.
On behalf of property developers, he’s secured various state grants and financial incentive programs- some in excess of a million dollars - that have led to the success of otherwise unlikely projects. Grants that Mr. Giacona has obtained for his clients have paved the way for local businesses expansion and job creation, as well as the rehabilitation of historically significant buildings in distress.
